Calling all Volunteers!

 

We are now in the process of planning the upcoming 2007 National Workshop on Christian Unity to be held at the Marriott Key Bridge on the Potomac River in Virginia. Committee descriptions are included below, and we need dedicated Volunteers in all committees. Please consider getting involved!

ARRANGEMENTS SUB-COMMITTEE

  • Arranging details with hotel including meeting spaces, set-up and catering.

  • Arranging details with hotel including meeting spaces, set-up and catering.

  • Arranging transportation for speakers and those attending local events.

  • Attention to handicapped accessibility for all events.
  • Recruiting and training volunteers as needed.

PROGRAM SUB-COMMITTEE
Mr. Dennis Siebert, Chair

  • Planning and arranging Opening Reception following Worship Service
    and Closing Luncheon.

  • Arranging room spaces for gatherings: seminars, plenaries and worship.

  • Providing for needs of speakers, presenters, and special guests.

  • Coordinate meal tickets/reservations as needed

REGISTRATION SUB-COMMITTEE

Mr. Gay Mount, Chair

  • Managing advance registration and tracking system.
  • Pre-registration of speakers, presenters and special guests.
  • Arranging on-site registration and registration desk staffing.
  • Updating the NPC periodically prior to the Workshop regarding registrations
  • Coordinating deposits of fees with Finance chair.
  • Sending registration confirmations, including pertinent information.
  • Coordinating registration packets complete for distribution at Workshop.

COMMUNICATIONS/PUBLIC RELATIONS SUB-COMMITTEE
Rev. Don Rooney, Chair

  • Arranging for current year letterhead, envelopes, etc.
  • Arranging for video and audio taping of plenaries and seminars, sale of
    tapes produced during the Workshop, and releases of all to be recorded.
  • Coordinating local publicity and press releases.
  • Management of press room in hotel.
  • Designing/producing brochure for general mailing.
  • Securing bios and photos of primary speakers from NPC.
  • Displaying of speakers’ information in registration area of Workshop.
  • Arrangement of seminar identification signage at entry of meeting rooms.

SCHOOLS OF THEOLOGY/SEMINARIES SUB-COMMITTEE
Rev. Dr. John W. Crossin, OSFS, PhD, Chair

  • Developing relationships with local schools of theology and seminaries toward encouraging participation in attendance and volunteering.

WORSHIP SUB-COMMITTEE
The Rev. D. Thomas Andrews, Chair

  • Planning opening Worship Service, including music, bulletin, etc.
  • Coordinating Morning Prayer services planned by networks and the NPC.

DISPLAYS SUB-COMMITTEE
Dr. R. Keelan Downton, Chair

  • Arranging display area in hotel for the sale of books, gifts, vestments, tapes.
  • Coordination with local bookstores and the NCC to display/sell on site.

FINANCE SUB-COMMITTEE
The Rev. Dr. Michael Nelson, Chair

  • Working with Registration in handling fees received.
  • Payment of bills and maintenance of records and accounts.
  • Regular reporting to the LPC and NPC.

WEDNESDAY EVENING CULTURAL EVENT SUB-COMMITTEE

  • Planning and execution of the optional cultural event off-site.
